It was a Monday. Another week started. I took a shower right after getting up as usual and went downstairs to have breakfast. It took me a quarter to prepare it. “Take a seat,” I said to my wife once she appeared in the kitchen. After that, we left for work. It turned out that my boss took over a competitor company, and that’s why he promised a pay rise for everyone. He learnt that this competitor company had financial difficulties and was up for sale, so he took the opportunity to buy it. “I took after my father”, he told me. “He also was very determined to achieve his goals,” my boss continued.
“Why don’t we take a break and go to town to celebrate the success?,” he asked. “Sorry but I can’t. I also have something to celebrate. Today it’s 5 years my wife and I have been married, so I’m taking her out tonight, you know,” I replied. My boss told me to take care of the company while he was out then. After getting back home, my wife and I went to the theatre to take part in the show. We had a whale of a time.
